Seven articles written by community-minded political and educational leaders documenting the change in the San Gabriel Valley, a unique pocket of suburban Los Angeles with a high percentage of Chinese American population, Chinese American businesses, and Chinese American restaurants, not found outside of California. The writers of these seven articles speak about their own personal experiences living in the so-called “first suburban Chinatown,” the changes over the years to the community they helped build, and what makes this community so unique.
